2015 E-rate Recipients

Nebraska Libraries Receive E-rate Discounts

Nebraska libraries were awarded $263,798.38 in discounts on their telecommunications costs during Funding Year 2015 (July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016).

 Discounts ranged from 30 to 90 percent, with 112 of the state's public libraries participating. 105 libraries were awarded Voice service discounts, 75 libraries were awarded discounts on Internet services, and 3 libraries were awarded a discount on Internal Connections.

Discounts are awarded on a sliding scale based on the percentage of students in the local school district who are eligible for the free and reduced school lunch program, an indicator of the local level of need, and the County's Rural or Urban status as determined by the U.S. Census.  

The Nebraska Library Commission provides education, training, and consultation services to Nebraska library staff to assist with E-rate applications.
